KnowledgeTree Open Source in rPath appliance form

The good folks at rPath have put together an appliance for KnowledgeTree Open Source. rPath is a bunch of ex-Red Hat guys that have put together a really compelling product offering, allowing ISVs to develop appliances around their software which have both the underlying stack (operating system, middleware etc) and their own application software working “out-of-the-box” on either virtual machines or on hardware.

Download the VMWare or Xen Appliance images and let us know what you think. The VMWare image requires the free VMWare Player software or the open source Xen host software.

The rPath concept is far broader than just allowing the development of appliances. They have put quite a bit of thought behind how ISVs keep the appliance updated and managed. Their website has more on their product offering.
